After four years, real-life sweethearts Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are finally set to reunite on television via the upcoming ABS-CBN series Too Good To Be True

This was announced by the couple on Monday, September 27, after they had a story conference for the new show.

Mag-start na kami mag-taping this October. The title is Too Good To Be True at sana abangan niyo. We are really, really excited for this project," said Kathryn, who added that the series is part of their 10th anniversary celebration as the popular love team "KathNiel."

"Kung hindi ako nagkakamali, one year in the making itong serye namin or more," said Daniel. "I'm not sure, basta nasa isang taon kaming nag-aayos ng script. Inaayos namin lahat with the team kung ano 'yung gusto naming gawin, ano ba 'yung gusto naming i-offer... Kung ano pa bang pwede naming gawin na something new for the people, para sa mga manonood. And now, nakagawa na kaming lahat ng isang magandang proyekto at isang magandang script and yes, ito na, gagawin na namin."

The couple didn't provide details regarding their new project—such as its storyline and cast members—but confirmed that Too Good To Be True falls under the romance-comedy genre.

Kasi 'yung last serye namin was La Luna Sangre and 'yun medyo fantasy-action siya. So sabi namin, siguro 'yung mga fans lalo, 'yung hinihiling nila is to see us parang gumagawa ng light na feel. But of course andyan pa rin 'yung dapat may matututunan ka, nandyan pa rin 'yung core ng mga characters. But something light, just to give them a break and breather ba sa lahat ng nangyayari ngayon," explained Kathryn.

"And 'yun 'yung binigay sa amin so we're really grateful at noong nabasa namin 'yung script, parang alam mo na, ito na 'yun. Tama na."

The two, who were last seen in the digital movie series The House Arrest of Us in January, admitted feeling excited and at the same time nervous about doing a new project especially at a time when the country is gripped by a pandemic.

"Of course 'yung kaba mo 'yung safety ng lahat, na sana maging safe kayo sa bubble and all. Tapos iba 'yung setup ngayon ng taping, eh. Parang ang hirap kasi i-risk 'yung safety ng lahat so extra challenging gumawa ng isang project ngayon sa sitwasyon natin kasi ang hirap gumalaw in this pandemic. So sana maging maayos ang lahat," said Kathryn.

"But overall, excited kami ni DJ," she continued. "Kailangan lang naming bumwelo pa. Nagsi-sink in lang siya sa amin unti unti pero kapag nandun na, with the production and everyone, I think this is going to be a fun journey."

They also expressed their gratitude to the production team of their new series, as well as ABS-CBN management for their continued trust and support.

Of course, the couple also didn't forget to thank their loyal fans, as they invited them to support their new project.

And dito sa bagong project namin na Too Good To Be True, sana po suportahan niyo. Alam namin iba ngayon 'yung set-up natin, kung papaano mapapanood. But again maraming salamat dahil nandyan pa rin kayo lahat.

Too Good To Be True will be directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, who also helmed the couple's blockbuster films Crazy Beautiful You (2015) and Can't Help Falling In Love (2017). No exact release date was given for the series, with Kathryn and Daniel only teasing that it is coming soon.
