Nadine Lustre is debuting a brand new 'do.
On Thursday, September 23, the actress surprised her 10.4 million Instagram followers with a sultry snap where she can be seen sporting a new hairstyle: a mullet.
The Indak star captioned the photo with a simple green apple emoji. As of this writing, more than 570,000 have "liked" the post, with fellow stars expressing how much they love her hair.
While Nadine didn't say if she was wearing a wig or if she really had a haircut, her friend, singer-songwriter Gabs Gibbs, wrote: "Sis finally did the mullet!!!!! Obsessed."
Other personalities who commented on her post were fellow actress Coleen Garcia, director Antoinette Jadaone, and local fashion blogger Verniece Enciso.
Nadine, 27, has been spending time in Siargao, notably with her rumored boyfriend, French businessman Christopher Bariou.
The two were first romantically linked in August, after several photos of them together on the island went viral among fans of the actress. Based on their research, Christopher is the owner and co-founder of an online magazine called BE Siargao. He is also the founder and managing director of a luxury resort in Siargao called Maison Bukana.
Nadine has yet to confirm the real status between her and Christopher as of this writing, although she just posted a photo of herself at Maison Bukana on her Instagram page. Check it out below:
Prior to Christopher, Nadine’s last known boyfriend was James Reid. The two, who formed the love team "JaDine", were a couple for almost four years until they announced their breakup in 2020.
In an interview with Karen Davila last June, Nadine revealed that she and James were already discussing going their separate ways in late 2019.
"We just wanted to work on ourselves. I get that people are sad about it but for us, it was a mutual decision. He had to take care of his family, focus on his career. I had to focus on my career and take care of my family as well and myself,” Nadine said in an interview last June.
“There’s no bad blood or anything," the actress furthered clarified. "No [third party]. Wala talaga. It was a mutual decision.”
True enough, the two remained close friends even after they broke up, and even worked together on Nadine's visual album "Wildest Dreams", which she released under James's record label Careless last year.
While their relationship didn't work out, the actress said she considers James her "great love."
“We learned a lot of things. We grew a lot. We were helping out each other. Hindi siya 'yung basta basta na pa-sweet lang. Marami akong natutunan sa relationship namin. A lot of me changed because of that, for the better of course. I opened up myself to a lot of new things. Great love talaga siya," she said.
Asked whether she thinks if she will find love again, Nadine said: "We’ll see. I am sure naman. Kasi love naman, hindi lang naman iyan pang isang tao. Hindi lang siya for an intimate kind of love. It’s for everyone.”
