Yassi Pressman took to Instagram to open up about how boxing saved her and helped her move on from what she described as “a dark time in her life.
While she did not go into specifics, Yassi said she almost quit everything in her life at that time.
Sharing how boxing helped her, she shared: “By finding this new hobby of mine, got my days exciting again, it made my sad mood swings go away because I had purpose again, purpose that pushed myself to be better than I was yesterday.”
But Yassi admitted it didn’t come easy for her as she had to face a lot of challenges along the way. So, she decided to do mixed martial arts.
“Of course, more challenges throughout the years came up, but thankfully that didn't stop me. I then found MMA, and that inspired me to get back and fight anxiety, MMA motivated me again,” she said.
Yassi also shared how grateful she is to have learned the sport. “I’ll always be thankful for this sport. I am not pretending to be a pro, nor am I trying to be one in the future. I am just grateful for things that make me feel alive.”
Meanwhile, Yassi also gave a message to all the people who, just like her, are going through a tough time in their lives.
“I salute every strong person out there who is fighting a battle that no one knows about. Keep going,” she said.
She went on: “It's inevitable that some days or weeks you'll feel overwhelmed by everything that's going on, but know that that's okay.. I hope this reminder inspires you to find something to keep your mind and body healthy. Always take care of yourselves & check up on your friends.”
