Sexy actress Lovi Poe on Thursday, September 16, signed with ABS-CBN, after more than 15 years as a contract artist of GMA-7.
A red carpet was rolled out for the actress as she made her first steps into the network's headquarters in Quezon City, before her contract-signing where she was joined by ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes, group CFO Rick Tan, Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal, and her talent manager Leo Dominguez.
For her first project as a Kapamilya, Lovi will be starring opposite actor and
‘Ultimate Heartthrob’ Piolo Pascual in a drama series. It is her second project with ABS-CBN overall, after the 2020 iWantTFC original movie Malaya, for which she earned a best actress nod at the 44th Gawad Urian Awards.
Throughout her career, Lovi has won numerous acting awards, including Best Actress trophies from the FAMAS Awards and the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. Aside from being an actress, she is also a well-known fashion model, having graced numerous magazine covers all over the world. Considered as one of the most sought-after brand endorsers in the country, the sexy star has more than 11 million followers across her social media pages.
Moreover, Lovi, 32, is also considered a showbiz royalty. She is the daughter of the late Fernando Poe, Jr. or FPJ, whose successful career as a movie star earned him the nickname "Da King" or "King of Philippine movies."
Lovi's transfer to ABS-CBN comes months after it was announced that she will star in a Hollywood film. The actress will play the role of British blues singer Dana Gillespie in the upcoming movie The Chelsea Cowboy, produced by The Wire actor and five-time Emmy-nominee Idris Elba. Filming will begin this October.
