Jessy Mendiola had a ready answer when her husband Luis Manzano asked her if she thinks that he will be a good father to their future children.
The television host asked this question in a heart-to-heart conversation with his wife, as seen in his newest YouTube vlog titled, "Questions I've never asked my wifey."
"Do you think I'll be a good dad?" asked Luis.
"Oh yes. Si pillow pa lang grabe mo alagaan, 'yung baby pa kaya natin," said Jessy, referring to her husband's favorite pillow which he's had since he was three years old.
"Tsaka alam kong ready ka na."
Luis agreed, before crediting his dad, actor Edu Manzano, and stepdad, Senator Ralph Recto, for showing him what being a good father means.
"Oo, feeling ko siyempre kahit papaano. Sinasabi naman talaga nila 'di ba, you can teach someone about the world pero the best way to learn talaga is through actually observing someone, firsthand experience. At nakita ko 'yun kay Daddy, kay Tito Ralph, kung paano sila naging erpat sa akin. Kung si Tito Ralph, paano naging erpat kay Ryan (his brother). 'Yun 'yung kumbaga bumuo sa pagkatao ko sa darating na point ng buhay ko ng pagiging isang ama. I learned and observed from the best," he said.
Jessy went on to say that her husband has been ready for the longest time to become a father. She shared that even back then when they were only boyfriend and girlfriend, Luis would often tell her how much he wanted to have his own child.
"Ako siguro, alam ko na na mababaliw ako 'pag naging daddy na ako," said Luis, adding that if there's someone who would be more ecstatic than him, it would be his mother, actress-politician Vilma Santos-Recto.
"Kung mas may mababaliw, 'yan ang mommy ko. Jusko, sigurado, spoiled na spoiled 'yung baby natin," he added.
Jessy, 28, and Luis, 40, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Batangas last February.
They announced their engagement in December 2020, after more than four years of being a couple.
