Following the historic feat of the Philippines in boxing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Eumir Marcial shared a photo of himself alongside Olympic winners Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio on social media.

Eumir posted a photo of themselves wearing their Olympic medals.

"See you soon Philippines," Eumir wrote in the caption of the photo.


Netizens were quick to congratulate the three athletes for their accomplishments at the Olympics.

"What a boxing family! What a legacy!" one netizen commented.

"Congratulations to all the Filipino Olympians! Fantastic achievement and milestone," one netizen posted.

"Sobrang laking bagay neto sa Pilipinas  Maraming salamat sa inyo," another netizen commented.

Eumir took home the bronze medal after competing for the middleweight event at the Olympics.

Nesthy Petecio became the first Filipino woman to win an Olympic medal in boxing after bringing home the silver medal in the women's featherweight event. 

The three boxers alongside weightlifting gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz made history for the Philippines at the Olympics after bringing home four medals, the most number of medals that the country won since the Los Angeles 1932 Games.
