Hidilyn Diaz took to social media to thank two coaches for her Olympic training in Malaysia.
Na-kaya ko dahil nandun sila, di nila ako iniwan," the athlete posted on her Instagram page.
Hidilyn relayed that though the language barrier among them caused misunderstandings, they chose to focus on achieving their goals together.
"Di maiwasan may di pagkaunawan kasi may language barrier (Filipino, Chinese, Guamanian).
The Olympic champion recognized the multiple roles her coaches played during her training.
"Thank you sa pagintindi at pagkakaroon ng multiple roles gaya ng pagiging coach, training partner, chef, driver, masahista, translator at marami pang iba," she said.
Hidilyn became the first Filipino to win a gold medal at the Olympics after winning the women's 55kg weightlifting competition.
