As one of the stars of director Darryl Yap’s latest film 69+1, Janno Gibbs admitted he is not as liberated as his latest role Apol, a man who gets invited by a lesbian couple (played by Maui Taylor and Rose Van Ginkel) to be part of a polyamorous setup for a year just to manage the so-called seven-year-itch period in their relationship. Janno said his first reaction to the script was more of nervousness than anything else.
“Kinabahan ako kasi aside from the entire theme, yung mga scenes marami dito hindi ko pa nagagawa sa iba kong movies,” he said during the 69+1 mediacon held last August 27.
During the event, the 51-year-old actor and singer also revealed his daring side offscreen by admitting he had already experienced being with a lesbian in the past.
“Yes, binata pa ako nito. Iba kasi ako yung first niya eh so before me, lesbian talaga siya. So ako yung first experience niya and then ngayon nababalitaan ko lesbian ulit siya,” he revealed.
Janno added that during their relationship he was not aware of his then girlfriend’s real orientation. “Hindi kasi naging kami hindi ko alam na lesbian siya eh. Saka ko na lang nalaman later on.”
When prodded to share more of his past as a single guy, Janno said he was also invited to be part of a threesome just like in the film.
“Nung bata ako merong nagyaya. Hindi natuloy. Pero kung dapat ba gawin that’s the choice of the couple na. Nasa sa inyo na yun kung talagang gusto niyo to spice things up,” he shared.
In his latest comedy with Viva films, Janno shared that the biggest challenges for him were not actually because of his sexy scenes with his two leading ladies. “One was yung sensual scenes namin tatlo together and yung shower scene. Aside from that, challenge was to show a different Janno Gibbs. Medyo toned down ng konti from Pakboys. I had to balance comedy with a serious note,” he admits.
