Actress Kris Bernal has announced the new date of her wedding to her fiancé, chef and businessman Perry Choi.
In her latest YouTube vlog, Kris revealed that she and Perry will be tying the knot on September 25, 2021 at the Magallanes Church in Makati.
The couple was supposed to get married last May 15, 2021. But because the church and reception venue they were eyeing were both unavailable at the time, they decided to move their wedding to June 5, 2021.
However, the two were again forced to postpone their wedding due to a surge in COVID-19 cases around April this year.
As for their new wedding schedule, the actress clarified that there's still a big chance that they might move the date.
"Hindi ko pa rin maa-assure or maga-guarantee sa inyo na tuloy na tuloy na 'yung September 25, 2021. Kasi siyempre dahil there's a surge in COVID-19 cases, lalo na very infectious ang Delta, and then pumasok na nga 'tong si Lambda," she said.
In case that happens, Kris said she and Perry are looking at two options: either to go for a civil wedding or just move their wedding next year.
Meanwhile, the actress explained why she and Perry want to push for a semi-regular wedding ceremony despite the current situation in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We really want to invite our relatives, kahit hindi na 'yung celebrity friends ko. In all honesty, wala akong masyadong invited na celebrity friends. It's because very limited talaga 'yung capacity na kailangan namin i-occupy... Actually, we finally decided talaga na 50 to 80 na lang, hanggang sa lumawag nang lumuwag 'yung lockdown, naging GCQ, dumagdag nang dumagdag 'yung guests namin hanggang sa naging 150 guests na kami," she said.
She added: "Gusto talaga namin invited mga relatives namin. I really want them to witness my wedding. And even with Perry, alam niyo ba si Perry, siya ang unang apo sa father's side. Siya 'yung eldest kaya it's such a big deal for them also."
In the vlog, Kris also revealed the official hashtag of her upcoming wedding to Perry— #PerryTaleNiKris, as suggested by one of her followers on Instagram.
Kris, 32, got engaged to Perry in February 2020, during his birthday bash which the actress herself organized. At the time, the couple had been dating for more than three years.
