The Tagaytay houses of Filipino Olympic medalists Hidilyn Diaz, Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial have started construction.
According to a report of Inquirer.net, a groundbreaking ceremony happened on Wednesday, August 18, in Barangay San Jose in Tagaytay.
The ceremony was led by Philippine Olympic Committee chief Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino with the Filipino medalists in attendance.
The construction of the Olympians' homes will be finished by December.
The properties are valued at Php5 million each with two bedrooms.
Hidilyn made history at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after claiming the first gold medal for the Philippines when she won the 55-kilogram weightlifting competition.
Nesthy became the first Filipino woman to win an Olympic medal in boxing after bringing home the silver medal in the women's featherweight event.
Meanwhile, Carlo competed in the flyweight boxing event and won a silver medal.
Eumir took home the bronze medal after competing for the middleweight event.
