Russell Reyes, who rose to fame after becoming part of the boy group BoybandPH, will be releasing his newest solo single.
Titled “Afraid,” the 22-year-old singer’s latest song will be released under Tarsier Records according to a press release on Tuesday, August 17.
Russell collaborated with Tarsier Records head and DJ-record producer Moophs for the R&B neo-soul track.
According to the artist, his track will be different from his previous releases because he will showcase a different kind of instrumentation coupled with his unique vocals and harmonies.
His track used classical guitar with a mix of modern hip-hop and classic Brazilian percussion.
Russell, who is currently in Chicago in the US, collaborated with Moophs for the track while juggling three different jobs.
Meanwhile, fans can expect his debut solo extended play (EP) — which will also be released under Tarsier Records — soon.
The song will be released on Monday, August 23 via various digital streaming platforms.
Russell Reyes joined Pinoy Boyband Superstar in 2016. Rumors about his departure from the group started in early 2020 when he started deleting his photos with his bandmates on Instagram. He continued doing song covers while staying in the US.
