Last seen as part of the ABS-CBN series Pasion De Amor in 2015 before she flew to the US, Michelle Madrigal met husband Troy Woolfolk through Tinder while studying culinary arts in Texas. They welcomed their daughter Anika in 2017 before getting married in April 2019. After less than three years of marriage, the US-based actress announced that that she and her fitness trainer husband are now going through a divorce.
On her Instagram account, Mitch wrote:
“Y’all have been asking us for awhile now…We didn’t have to but we’ve shared our lives with y’all in the past so here we are today.
“@twoolf29 and I have been separated and are going through divorce. Of course, we have remained friends and co-parents to our beautiful daughter Anika. We only wanted to share this to be transparent due to the amount of DM’s and comments we get from y’all.
“We hope that y’all can give us the space and respect with our decision. We thank y’all for all the love and support you have given The Woolfolk family. We will always have love for each other and cherish the good times rather than the bad ones. ”
Last year, the couple admitted on Michelle’s vlog that they were going to a marriage counselor. In her vlog last October, Michelle shared her thoughts on attending sessions. “All couples fight. And I guess for us, let’s just say that Troy and I had to go through therapy and we still are trying to get back to our marriage counseling because we need help on top of us trying to figure out and getting to know each other on a deeper level. We need an extra help,” she shared.
Michelle first entered showbiz as one of the finalists of the ABS-CBN talent competition Star Circle Quest, in 2004 along with batchmates Sandara Park, Joross Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Neri Naig, and Hero Angeles who won as Grand Questor.
