After starring in the first Filipino BL movie The Boy Foretold By The Stars which was released last December, Adrian Lindayag said he is happy to reprise his role as straight A student Dominic in the new series Love Beneath The Stars which starts streaming for free this month on iWantTFC.

“Sobra akong excited ulit kasi it’s been a long time coming.

Before he came out to his family when he was younger, Adrian revealed his struggle with homosexuality.

“Yung faith ko marami ng pinagdaanan yan. I grew up in a conservative Catholic family. So I grew up hating myself because ayokong maramdaman yung mga natural na nararamdaman ko. I don’t want to be attracted to boys kasi bawal siya. Narinig ko na bawal yun. So I grew up hating myself and nung nag-college ako sa La Salle, dun ko natutunan yung iba’t ibang faith, iba’t ibang paniniwala sa mundo. Dun ako mas naging liberal and naging atheist ako actually at that time. tapos it didn’t work out kasi fundamentally I’m a very spiritual person,” he recalled.

Just like his role as Dominic in Love Beneath The Stars, Adrian said it is his relationship with God that has helped him understand himself more.

“So now umabot na ako sa pag-merge ko ng truth ko as a person and ng relationship ko with God and spirituality. Because God is love and love is to honor God, we have to understand that if only I had the choice, I would just choose to be straight kasi mas madali maging straight. But I wasn’t born that way. I have these natural urges. Eh bakla ako eh, may feminine side ako and I also have a masculine side and I embrace all those qualities about me and I think yung purpose ko is to live out my truth so that I can show other people na sila din they can live their truth. As long as wala kang natatapakan at nasasaktan na ibang tao, yan yung purpose mo sa mundo,” he said.
