While Kris Aquino did not directly confirm the real score between her and former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento, it appears the Queen of All Media is happy with her relationship with him right now.

This, after Mel defended Kris from bashers over her birthday greeting for her “mystery man” on social media.

Although Kris did not mention the name of the person she was referring to, several people instantly pointed out Mel as the guy in her post.

Responding to a netizen, Mel wrote: “@mynameisaxell hiniram ko yung phone ni Kris – ewan ko kung nakatrabaho kita sa DILG sa laki ng department mahirap maalalala ang lahat. Wag naman masamain kung nag greet nga sa ‘kin, ba’t naman napunta na sa malas?”

He added by saying he is lucky to have Kris in his life because she makes him happy. “Eh napasaya nga nya ko- kung tutuusin napaka swerte ko. Kung nag sama nga tayo sa department na minahal ko, konting respeto naman sa min ni Kris. – Mel Senen Sarmiento,” he stated.

Kris, for her part, responded to Mel’s sweet gesture by saying there’s no need to guess who her mystery man is. “No need to guess, scroll down, he borrowed my phone to reply to this weird troll,” she said

Kris went on to say how she feels about the former Calbayog City Mayor being there to defend her. “Maybe now you’ll understand, that at least now there’s someone with the guts to stand up for me. Wala akong pinatatamaan, I’m just stating facts,” she remarked.

Kris said people around her kept telling her she deserves someone who is ready to defend her.

“Because for the longest time that was what my friends & followers kept telling me — that I deserved someone na handa akong ipaglaban,” she stated.

“Maybe I’m just proof – everything happens in God‘s perfect time, not ours but His. All He asks is that we continue to have faith while we patiently wait,” she said.

Meanwhile, celebrity makeup artist and Kris’s good friend RB Chanco said she likes the mystery man in Kris’ life whom she described as having “100% positive vibes.”

“I like him. He has my approval too,” RB said. To which Kris responded with: “That’s what matters, the people who truly love me have all met him and you all feel may calming influence siya. And he said you really are a genius, grabe raw 'yung talent mo.”

According to Kris, she received a bouquet of flowers for her birthday post for Mel.

“Bimb carried this pretty awesome bouquet. I have never been thanked this way for a ‘birthday’ post. Obviously, he has Bimb’s yes and you’ve always been vocal when my sons are okay, then my world’s okay and because you want to keep it this way, whatever shall be happening will be only for us — my family, closest friends, and trusted team,” Kris wrote.

Kris added by saying she believes her brother, the late President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III, will approve of her relationship.

“Thank you for wanting me to be happy, this time I feel even Noy in heaven will finally approve, siguro naman because we’d never have met had it not been for him,” she stated.
