Alex Calleja could not help but shed tears as he shared how the pandemic has affected his career as a comedian

Alex said he has been getting a lot of bashing online for defending his home network following the non-renewal of ABS-CBN’s broadcast franchise.

According to Alex, he no longer had projects with the Kapamilya network prior to its shutdown.

So, sinasagot ko sila. Pumapatol ako lalo na ‘pag tinatawagan akong bobo,” he continued.

He said he had to respond to one of his bashers after getting cursed. “Tapos may isa akong basher. Talagang hindi ko tinantanan. Talagang pinatulan ko. Kasi minura niya ako,” he said.

While he gets to have online gigs from time to time, he said it is never the same without the existence of ABS-CBN.

Pero nagbabagsakan minsan ang presyo,” he said.

Pero kulang talaga,” he added.

Alex lamented the pandemic response of the government as it directly affected him.

“Masakit. Hanggang sa naapektuhan talaga tayo directly,” Alex said.

“Bakit? Hindi ka na makapasok eh. Nonessential daw ‘yung entertainment. Nonessential daw kami,” he added.

Alex said he feels envious of performers from different countries who can already go out and perform before a live audience.

“Naapektuhan kami. Nilockdown niyo kami eh. Walang makapag-perform eh. Nagsisigawan na sila sa labas,” he said.

Tama ba sila? Wala akong pakialam kung magkahawaan sila. Pero bumalik sila ng normal. Malapit na sila kumpara sa atin,” he added.
