Yexel Sebastian recently came under fire following what many perceived as an apparent move to take advantage of other people with his status as a social media influencer.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, Yexel said he’s looking for contractors who could help him with the flooring of his ongoing house project in Bulacan in exchange for collaboration and ex-deal.
After getting bashed online, Yexel decided to take down the post from his Facebook account and defended himself from the bashing he has received online.
Yexel said he has no intentions to belittle engineers, architects, and contractors.
He went on to say that his offer would benefit both sides because of his following on social media which he said could potentially help promote the other party.
He has 4.9 million followers on Facebook and 787,000 subscribers on YouTube.
“Ang ex deal po sa Google no money involved. Pero sa iba po ‘yan ay discount or any anything in exchange na parehas magbebenefit both sides mapag-uusapan. Hindi po pagsasamantalaha o lalamangan. Ang iba ngayon lang narinig yan pero naki-hate nalang at minasama,” he said.
He added: “Gaya po ninyo kami po ay gumagawa ng paraan sa buhay. Tayo po ay tumatawad. Nakikiusap at naghahanap ng magandang deal.”
Netizens also called out Yexel after his proposal surfaced online, revealing that he wasn’t merely asking for a discount but rather “sponsored materials” for his ongoing house project.
Having been known as a toy museum owner and brother of the late YouTube artist Jam Sebastian, Yexel became even more popular on social media when he became a vlogger himself.
He is the partner of former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and ex-GirlTrends member Mikee Agustin. They have a child together.
