Celebrity couple Alex Gonzaga and her husband Mikee Morada are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The two received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Taguig last week, the actress and social media star shared in her most recent Instagram update.
"Last week we were fully vaxxed!!! Thank you Lord!" wrote Alex as caption to a photo of herself and her husband proudly showing off their vaccinated arms.
She also posted a video showing her playfully teasing her husband while he was getting vaccinated for a second time.
"Swipe to see kung paano kapag napangasawa mo mang-aasar!" Alex also said.
She did not say in her post, however, when she and Mikee got their first jab of the COVID-19.
Aside from Alex, her sister, actress-host Toni Gonzaga, and parents Pinty and Bonoy, have also been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
As of Sunday, August 8, the Philippine government has received over 38 million doses of vaccines from Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson&Johnson, and Russia's Gamaleya Institute. Since the start of the vaccination drive last March, more than 24 million doses—of which 11 million are second doses—have been administered.
The country on Monday, August 9, recorded 8,900 additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the overall tally to 1,667,714—with deaths at 29,128—one of the highest caseloads in Asia.
The surge in COVID-19 infections due to the more virulent Delta variant has prompted the government to place Metro Manila under hard lockdown anew, beginning August 6 until August 20. Other areas that were put under the enhanced community quarantine include Iloilo City, Laguna, and Cagayan De Oro, and Bataan.
