Television host Luis Manzano said his wife, actress Jessy Mendiola, has the freedom to do what she wants in life even when they finally have their own kids.
In her most recent YouTube vlog, where she asked her husband questions she'd never asked him before, Jessy asked Luis whether he'd ever ask her to permanently leave showbiz once they start their own family.
"Technically naman, you're already on a long hiatus from showbiz," Luis pointed out.
To which Jessy said, "Choice ko rin talaga 'yun, hindi si Howhow ang may call no'n or anything."
"Pero nag-usap kami na if ever man we have kids na, gusto ko talaga na medyo tutok ako," she continued. "Like ako 'yung magluluto ng food nila, ako 'yung magdadala sa kanila sa school, ako 'yung magsusundo. Tapos siyempre, when Howhow gets home from work, ako 'yung naghahanda na ng pantulog niya."
Luis then told Jessy that she can do whatever she wants, stressing that both he and his wife can do other things in life while still being great parents to their future children.
"Do what you want. Kung may gusto kang gawin as you, as a vlogger, as an artist... Pero naiintidihan ko na may mga dapat ka ring gawin as a mother," he said.
"The same way na ganun din... kung kunyari lang, nasa hosting pa rin ako, may kailangan akong gawin as an artist, as a businessman, may mga kailangan din akong gawin as a father. So kaya natin naman gawin lahat 'yun without compromising the attention at love na pwede nating ibigay sa mga bata," he added.
After four years of being a couple, Jessy, 28, and Luis, 40, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Batangas last February.
Since then, the couple has been open about wanting to start a family of their own.
“Given naman ‘yun. Siyempre hindi na naman na ako bumabata,” Luis said in a previous YouTube vlog, as he admitted that he already wants to have kids with Jessy.
The TV host added that he wants to enjoy the kind of bond he and his father, actor-politician Edu Manzano, had back when he was young.
“'Yung Daddy ko nu’ng pinanganak ako I think nasa 28 years old ata siya. Same age si Mommy (Vilma Santos-Recto) at si Daddy. Marami kaming na-eenjoy ni Daddy together event at this point. So parang ‘yun din ang habol ko na parang ‘yung anak natin marami pa kaming magawa,” he said.
Jessy, for her part, shared that she wants to have two to three kids with Luis in five years, as she admitted that she's now ready to become a mother.
"I am ready to get pregnant," she admitted in her Q&A vlog uploaded last month.
"Better din na nasa late 20s na rin ako, kesa nasa 30s na 'ko. Parang feeling ko mas mabilis akong magba-bounce back. And gusto rin talaga namin ni Luis na siguro mga two to three 'yung children namin. Kaya sana two to three kids before I turn 33, ganun. 28 na 'ko ngayon eh, so meron akong five years pa," she added.
