Actor McCoy de Leon released a short film dedicated to his girlfriend, actress Elisse Joson, to mark the first year since they got back together again years after they broke up.
Titled YAU or You Are Unique, the video was uploaded on McCoy's YouTube channel last Saturday, July 3.
The film began by showing random shots with captions, which fully read: "Isa ka bang makina? Isang ulap? Isang poste? Isang puno? Dalawang ilaw? Sabi nga nila, you are unique in your own way.
Random clips of Elisse then showed on the screen, with McCoy's version of Elvis Presley's song "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" playing in the background.
Toward the end of the film, a clip was shown that was supposedly taken in 2018, where McCoy and Elisse promised to see each other again in a different country in two years, before exchanging a sweet kiss.
What appeared after were the following lines: "Kaya ngayon, masasabi ko ang istorya natin ay natatangi, at ikaw ang aking 'Natatangi'. Mahal kita, Elisse ko."
As of this writing, McCoy's short film has garnered more than 35,000 views and 2,900 "likes".
A day before the video was released, Elisse also posted a sweet tribute to McCoy on her Instagram page, captioned, "...sa araw araw."
It was in June, during an interview with the press for the musical film Yorme: The Musical, when McCoy confirmed that he and Elisse had gotten back together.
Nag-catch-up kami. Tapos dire-diretso na,” he shared.
According to the actor, his feelings towards Elisse didn't change even after they broke up.
"Hindi naman nagbago," he said. "Maganda pa rin si Elisse talaga noon. Lalong gumanda.
McCoy, 26, and Elisse, 25, met during their stint as housemates in the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7. Their pairing, dubbed "McLisse," spawned a following for their sweet on-cam moments.
The two eventually became an official couple, but broke hearts in 2018, when they confirmed that they had parted ways.
During a guest appearance on Gandang Gabi Vice, McCoy admitted that their split had been painful for him.
"Siyempre iiyak ka kapag mahal mo," he said, adding, "Matagal 'yung pinagsamahan namin... malalim... kakaiba."
He also confessed that he begged Elisse to give their relationship a second chance.
