Aside from her current role in the teleserye Huwag Kang Mangamba, Mylene Dizon is part of the new iWantTFC Original Series My Sunset Girl which is set to premiere online this July 14.

“I play the very, very protective mother of Charlie Dizon. I’m very, very protective kaya napunta si Charlie sa situation niya was because sa pagiging protective ko masyado sa kanya. May flaws yung tao, lahat naman meron eh. Yun yung flaw ko, yung masyado akong naging protective kay Charlie na umabot sa point na wala na ako sa ayos. Hindi na tama,” she said during the My Sunset Girl media con.

As one of the staunch supporters of the Kapamilya network last year during the shutdown, Mylene shared how she felt fighting alongside the network she considers like family.

“During that time I wasn’t with ABS-CBN, I was with another network finishing a project with them. I was with them. I joined the rally. I stood outside the station. I sang with them. Tinaas ko yung kamao ko for ABS-CBN. Sumugod kami from Cavite talagang pumunta kami. I’ve been with ABS-CBN for [25] years so ang tagal tagal ko na dun. Yung mga nakakatrabaho ko ngayon from cameraman, gaffer, yung staff, yung crew, basta lahat yan matagal ko na silang kaibigan. Kailangan magtutulungan na lang tayo para kahit papaano naman lahat tayo happy somehow. But I’m still very, very pissed about what happened a year ago. Siguro yung galit ko noon hanggang ngayon pareho pa rin yung level,” she shared.

The My Sunset Girl actress said she continues to remain positive for the future of ABS-CBN and shared the bigger meaning of working for the network right now.

“Siyempre hanggang ngayon malaking kawalan pa rin kasi a big chunk of our company is still not operating di ba? We are still not able to relay lahat ng news na dapat ihahayag natin. I’m still naiinis about it. I’m still going to fight with ABS-CBN para maibalik yun. As for working, I think that is the reason we are all still working. Hindi lang sa gusto natin na meron tayong kita. We are all willing to work kahit alam natin maski papaano kahit gawin natin lahat ng mga protocols meron pa rin tayong chance na magkasakit dahil magkakasama tayo sa set and so on and so forth. Pero nagtatrabaho tayo kasi kasama natin yung mga kasamahan natin sa ABS-CBN and we all need to parang kailangan natin mag-kapit bisig tayong lahat para magkaroon tayo ng trabaho for everybody, for the entire company. We’re not just doing this for ourselves. I’m not doing this for myself. I’m doing it for everybody, for the company,” she said.

Watch the new iWantTFC Original Series My Sunset Girl starting July 14 at 8 pm. Starring Charlie Dizon, Jameson Blake, Mylene Dizon, and Joem Bascon. Directed by Andoy Ranay.
