South Korean girl group TWICE said it hoped it could visit the Philippines once the pandemic is over not just to hold a show but also to see what the Philippines has to offer including tourist spots and local delicacies.
Fresh off the successful release of their latest single “Alcohol-Free,” the girls of the K-Pop group brought joy to PH ONCEs during a virtual event organized by lifestyle and clothing brand BENCH last June 27.
Apart from answering random questions from PH ONCE and interacting with them through various fun games, TWICE also did live performances of their hits straight from South Korea.
After the fan event, TWICE graced a media event with select members of the Filipino online press.
Two years since TWICE last came to the Philippines, the nine-piece group expressed its desire to try out local food in the country and meet the new members of the ever-growing fandom that is PH ONCE, up-close and personal.
“We would like to try the delicious local Filipino foods. And also, we may have gotten new ONCE members, so we would like to meet our new ONCEs in the Philippines,” Momo told one of the members of the press.
While TWICE did not disappoint its fans with show-stopping performances from start to finish during their visit in 2019, the K-Pop girl group said it hopes to bring in a different kind of experience with their newer songs which they described as “more mature.”
“Compared to the last time, we have more mature songs so I think the fans would be able to enjoy the concert in a different style,” Sana stated.
The girls of TWICE also gave a message to all their Filipino fans whom they hope to see as soon as the pandemic is over. Plus, the girls also wish to be able to explore the Philippines for fun.
“It’s already been two years since we’ve had our concert in the Philippines. We really want the COVID to end soon so that we can do a concert tour and meet our Filipino ONCEs, and when we get to visit the Philippines, we want to travel and eat some delicious local foods,” Chaeyoung told PUSH.
Meanwhile, TWICE also shared with PUSH the fun experience the girls had while shooting the music video for their latest hit “Alcohol-Free.”
“We filmed our music video in Jeju Island, and the beach and scenery behind us were very beautiful. There were people surfing and people who came to travel, so we felt like we were on a trip as well while shooting,” Chaeyoung said.
Composed of nine members, TWICE is the girl group behind the hit tracks “TT,” “FANCY,” and “LIKEY,” among others.
