Unlike his other social media accounts, Richard Juan explained why his TikTok account is the most fun to update.
“Tiktok is the platform where I really just have fun. For my other social media I guess it’s a little bit more curated. Sa Instagram is more curated, sa Facebook medyo random pero Tiktok is where I genuinely just have fun and as some of you guys know, I’m quite outspoken on Twitter. But on Tiktok it’s really where I try to keep things light. I like to just have fun. Whatever is trendy I’ll do it. And it’s really more of a showcase of my personality kesa sa specific na content,” he shared during the Star Magic Black Pen Day media con.
The 28-year-old former Pinoy Big Brother host also revealed how he is able to balance his schedule as a new Star Magic artist, podcaster, and vlogger.
“I guess for me I’m someone who really has a strict schedule. I always tell myself I’ll wake up at 9:30 am. No matter how late I sleep I will have to wake up at 9:30 am and that’s when I know everything that I have to do nakahilera na siya so I really plan a day ahead or even two days ahead. It’s all about time management. That’s my advice to everyone who wants to get things done,” he said.
Richard said he never really thought of joining showbiz because of his Asian features but a Korean celebrity changed his mind about it.
“Growing up kasi, hindi ko talaga na-imagine magiging artista ako. Especially on the big screen you never really see any Asian face and no one looks like me. Kaya never ko talaga na-imagine na magiging ganito ako. But because of the Korean dramas, all the K-pop music and Asian wave, ngayon nakikita ko na. And especially it all started with Kim Soo-hyun yun bang idol ko din siya. I’m like, ‘Oh my God this guy looks like me and he’s making it internationally.’ He’s making it big so parang naisip ko baka may chance na rin pala ako kasi ngayon uso na ito. This was around 2013 to 2014 na napansin ko na puwede ko pala ito gawin talaga na career. So that was where everything started. Things just stemmed from there,” he recalled.
Being of Hong Kong Chinese descent, Richard said he was also happy to watch Philippine TV and see an actor he could relate to in Be Careful With My Heart.
“Locally speaking, I think the first show I saw on TV was si Richard Yap so I thought there’s this Chinese looking guy so puwede rin pala sa Pilipinas, baka may chance pala ako. Growing up kasi never ko ito naisip kasi I never see anyone like me on TV. Kasi growing up in Hong Kong iba naman yun,” he added.
As a Star Magic artist, Richard admits he could not be any prouder. “It’s an honor and a privilege. Star Magic is the biggest talent agency here in the Philippines and to be part of this is really just an honor and a privilege,” he said.
