Following her heartwarming interview with Basel Manadil, Toni Gonzaga did a fun game with the Filipino-Syrian vlogger where she answered a number of fun questions which tested the TV host’s English-speaking skills.
Also known as The Hungry Syrian Wanderer, Basel asked Toni to translate Filipino words and phrases into English – most of which Pinoys find hard to translate.
“I know you are a TV host and you are a good TV host. So, you interview people and you really have good questions for people. And I prepared some good questions for you because I want to see how you are going to answer,” Basel told Toni.
Some of the words Basel asked Toni to translate include “nakakaumay” and “pang ilan ka sa magkakapatid?”
But because Toni find some of them hard to translate, she was forced to seek the help of her husband Paul Soriano. “I heard that already. You know what, I’ll call my husband, Paul. He can translate that for us,” she said.
Towards the end of the vlog, Toni asked if she “passed” the test. To which Basel responded with “Of course, 10 over 10.”

During Basel’s appearance on Toni’s vlog, the 27-year-old vlogger revealed the reason why he decided to become a full-fledged Filipino.
“Why did I convert to Filipino? I chose to live here. So, I was offered after graduation to go to France, to go live with my brother, with my father and just an instant opportunity to work because my brother has a connection there. And it was a hard decision that I made,” he remarked.
