Here's good news for fans of Ben&Ben: the OPM band will be releasing a new song on Friday, July 30, and it features singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre.
On its social media pages, Ben&Ben announced that the new collaboration serves as the third single from their second studio album, the follow-up to 2019's Limasawa Street.
"Get ready for the feels," the band wrote on Instagram.
Likewise, Moira shared the exciting news with her fans and followers via her Instagram page.
This marks the second time Ben&Ben has collaborated with Moira, who is known for her hits "Paubaya", "Tagpuan", "Tagu-Taguan", and "Mabagal".
In March last year, the two acts released their first collaboration "Paalam" under Star Music. The song was later nominated at the 2020 Awit Awards for Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Musical Arrangement, and at the 2021 MYX Music Award for Collaboration of the Year.
Ben&Ben, who recently marked their fourth anniversary as a band, released "Upuan" and "Magpahinga" as the first two singles from their upcoming sophomore album.
Released last May, "Upuan" describes the "palpable romantic tension that arises from friendships that are formed by sitting next to each other, and the adventurous conversations that ensue.”
Meanwhile, "Magpahinga" is a song about finding rest. Paolo Benjamin, one half of the Guico twins who are the face of the award-winning indie folk band, shared that the emotional track was written when his sister tested positive for COVID-19.
Its official music video starred veteran actor Joel Torre and actress Bela Padilla.
In an interview with Inquirer.net, Ben&Ben said they chose the singles based on what they thought the people wanted to hear, and what message they wanted to send out in these difficult times.
A specific release date for the band's highly anticipated album has yet to be announced as of writing.
Aside from Paolo and his twin brother Miguel, Ben&Ben—the band behind the hit songs "Leaves", "Maybe the Night", "Pagtingin", and the critically acclaimed "Kathang Isip"—consists of Poch Barretto on electric guitar, Jam Villanueva on drums, Agnes Reoma on bass, Patricia Lasaten on keyboards, Toni Munoz and Andrew de Pano on percussions, and Keifer Cabugao on violin.
