Toni Gonzaga is set to star in a movie that will be filmed in New York.
The actress will be part of the upcoming film Asian Persuasion, which will be directed by Tony Award-winning producer Jhett Tolentino.
Toni will headline the movie alongside Filipino-American actor Dante Basco.
According to the social media page of the movie, Toni will play the role of Avery, "a beautiful and stylish Asian-American who owns a fashion design business in the Lower East Side."
Meanwhile, Dante will play as Mickey who is "an Asian-American who owns a run-down coffee shop in Queens. He was once an aspiring fine-dining chef whose culinary dreams and ambitions were derailed by self-doubt and depression following his parents’ sudden death during his senior year in college."
The story will revolve around Mickey and Avery's divorce.
"Mickey is finally divorced from his wife, Avery, of 15 years. Life has been hard on him, between overcoming tragedy and the elusive dream of establishing his own Michelin-rated Filipino restaurant. His marriage to Avery was collateral damage," said the social media post on Asian Persuasion's Instagram page.
