When she first started modeling at seven years old, Lou Yanong said she never imagined she would eventually enter showbiz at 22 when she became part of Pinoy Big Brother and ended up winning third big placer in 2019. This year, Lou signed up to be part of the Star Magic family during the Black Pen Day event.
“I am very thankful for the trust that they have sa amin because it takes a lot of paniniwala sa amin and I’m excited to make mistakes because I know that I will grow from them. And for failures, I’m excited for those. Ako lang ata yung excited sa ganun kasi that’s where I learn how to deal with the consequences. I’m excited, blessed, lahat, grateful,” she said.
After moving on from her breakup with fellow PBB housemate Andre Brouillete earlier this year, Lou said she is ready to fully focus on her acting career. She also shared how she deals with the pressure of constantly being under the limelight.
“I really don’t focus on other people. I focus on myself more because I know my greatest competition is myself. Kung sino yung mga kaibigan ko in showbiz I really consider them as my friends. So I don’t like the feeling of competitiveness sa circle ko. So who I let in are really my friends. Like Kiara (Takahashi), Star Hunt, these people. I choose my friends,” she shared.
Among the many talented local actresses, Lou said she would love to get the chance to be on the same set as The Broken Marriage Vow star Jodi Sta. Maria.
“Locally I am very excited if ever in the future, to work with Ms. Jodi Sta. Maria because I really love the way she does her craft, the way she works. Internationally lagi ko sinasabing Natalie Portman for some reason. Because I really loved her movie Black Swan and her being able to portray two characters in one movie,” she said.
