As she stars in her first lead role in a movie in the Star Cinema x Kumu project Love at First Stream, Daniela Stranner shared how she ended up in showbiz.
“Nung bata ako I never really thought of being an artista. Yung mom ko nung nalaman niya na nagka-audition ako sa ABS-CBN, sobrang my mom really wanted this for me. I wanted it na rin when I fell in love with the art of acting. When I was interviewed and pinatawag ako sa office, they were interviewing me lang about life and I had no idea that it was about Rise (Artists Studio) and then one day I received the good news that we were going to be launched for Rise Artists Studio,” she shared during the cast announcement for Love at First Stream.
After working with director Cathy Garcia-Molina last year in her first teleserye project Make it With You, the 18-year-old actress admitted she had mixed emotions after being offered the lead in direk Cathy’s latest project Love at First Stream.
“Andun yung excitement, yung pressure, takot. Lahat ng emotions na-feel ko nun kasi hindi ako makapaniwala. At first nagulat ako na binigyan kami ng project sa dinami dami ng artista and during this pandemic tapos mabibigyan ka ng project it’s really a blessing. Tapos nalaman pa namin na first movie namin is with direk Cathy sobrang saya, excited, and takot. Nung nalaman ko na magkakaroon kami ng project with direk Cathy pinanuod ko halos lahat ng mga dinirect niya. Ang pinaka nagustuhan ko She’s Dating the Gangster. Kakaiba yun and Hello Love, Goodbye,” she said.
After finding out she was one of the four lead actors, Daniela said she initially had a lot of thoughts.
”Nung nalaman ko na I was going to be part of this movie, sobrang kaba ko. I was overthinking to be judged by people, baka nga people would say that I don’t deserve this and I’m not good enough. Pero hearing what direk Cathy was saying, parang nangingilabot ako na naniniwala sa akin si direk Cathy and I know na si direk Cathy talaga makakatulong ng sobra. Naganahan ako ng sobra na naniniwala sa akin si direk. Masaya ako,” she said.
Counting The Hows of Us as one of her favorite movies, Daniela said she will do her best to do justice to her biggest break in showbiz.
“This movie is really important sa akin kasi I’ve always wanted to have a role na ganito. Ito kasi ang dream role ko and I’m finally getting it. It’s my first movie and it’s directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and I’m very happy kasi alam ko madami akong matututunan sa kanya,” she added.
