CL of South Korean girl group 2NE1 teamed up with the agency of fellow K-Pop artist Kang Daniel as she gears up for her upcoming solo album.
The 30-year-old artist signed a management deal under Kang Daniel’s KONNECT Entertainment to promote her domestic activities — including her new album — in South Korea.
Titled “ALPHA,” CL’s new album is another solo effort from the former 2NE1 member.
While she is still under her agency Very Cherry, CL partnered with the agency of the former Wanna One member to help her as she prepares to give new music to her fans.
“We will be responsible for the management of CL’s domestic activities. We will passionately support CL so that she is able to be fully active as a top-tier musician,” KONNECT Entertainment said on July 10 as translated by Korean entertainment site Soompi.
CL’s agency, on the other hand, shared its excitement to work with Kang Daniel’s agency.
“We’re looking forward to creating positive synergy through this partnership,” wrote Very Cherry in its statement.
Meanwhile, CL took to Instagram to announce the partnership with KONNECT Entertainment.
As translated by Soompi, she wrote: “’ALPHA’ will soon be released, and in order to actively promote the album in Korea as well, Very Cherry be partnering with KONNECT Entertainment, who will be handling my promotions for ‘ALPHA’ as well as my domestic management. I’m writing this post to personally introduce my new partner!”
According to CL, she reached out to KONNECT Entertainment to help her reach a wider audience.
She stated: “While preparing ‘ALPHA,’ I worried about how I could reach more people and communicate more closely with my domestic fans, whom I’m greeting for the first time in a long while. In the end, I think I’ll be able to meet my fans together with a team that will support me and Very Cherry exactly the way we are, so I’m really looking forward to it!”
She also announced that she will be working with more companies in the future to help her with her
She remarked: “Very Cherry and I plan to continue joining forces with a wide variety [of companies], without boundaries, in the future as well, so please look forward to it. I’ll be greeting you next time with news about ‘ALPHA’!”
Kang Daniel established KONNECT Entertainment following his departure from his former boy group.
CL, on the other hand, went on to pursue solo endeavors following the disbandment of 2NE1.
