Actor Paolo Gumabao is set to star in award-winning director Joel Lamangan's newest film Lockdown.
The project marks Paolo's first movie in a solo lead role. According to its official synopsis, Lockdown is a poignant story about the struggle of a young man to survive the global pandemic and the naked truth about the life he chooses to live.
Billed as Paolo's most daring film, Lockdown was written by Troy Espiritu, who is known for his internationally acclaimed movies Ma Rosa and Alpha: The Right To Kill.
Joining Paolo in the movie are Max Eigenmann, Jim Pebanco, Ruby Ruiz, and Angellie Nicholle Sanoy.
Lockdown is scheduled to premiere this coming July 23 on the livestreaming platform KTX.ph.
Paolo is the half-brother of actor Marco Gumabao and beauty queen Michelle Gumabao.
He was most recently seen in the iWanTFC digital horror anthology Horrorscope.
In 2019, Paolo starred in another iWant Original series ", which tells the story of Filipino teenagers living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Paolo was also part of the ABS-CBN series Oh My G! starring Janella Salvador, as well as the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival movie Haunted Mansion.
