As one of the cast members of the reality variety show Aja! Aja! Tayo sa Jeju, Robi Domingo admitted he does not mind being the ‘kuya’ among the hosts which also includes Donny Pangilinan, Kristel Fulgar, and Shine Kuk. The show, which premiered last March on the Kapamilya channel and A2Z was shot entirely in Jeju island in South Korea and has the four hosts completing different challenges while discovering more of the culture on the island.
“It’s so nice I guess kasi we always have fun with the situation. I know the crew, cast, and the creatives, but I didn’t know what was going to happen. What makes the show interesting yung kulitan ng grupo eh. Dun ako natuwa. I did not really know Kristel, Shine, and si Donny konting konti lang because of work. Pero when we got things going, nagulat ako na swak pala yung mga personalities namin. So that’s the best thing about being a kuya, you get to see the growth and development of everyone,” he said during the Aja! Aja! Aja! virtual fan gathering.
Aside from the adventure and travel, Robi said that he misses a lot of things from visiting one of the most beautiful places in South Korea.
“When we went to Korea, sobrang linis. Wala kang kalat na makikita dun so hopefully we can have that certain trait nila na to be responsible sa mga kalat mo and they’re so organized and one thing about the Korean culture is that they really love their local products. Tsaka yun yung binibida nila. If we have that kind of level katulad nila, I’m sure ma-a-appreciate sa buong mundo. Sa pagkain I love Korean chicken. We had that one in Jeju as well tapos with a certain drink. Sobrang sarap niya talaga. I had that experience with Kristel and Shine at the airport but I just forgot the name. Korean beef stew, yun ang sunod kong favorite,” he said.
With his relationship with non-showbiz girlfriend Maiqui Pineda going strong, the Kapamilya host admitted they have already talked about talked about marriage. The couple are celebrating their third anniversary this August but Robi reveals why they can’t tie the knot just yet.
“We have plans naman, of course, but we are not rushing into those kinds of things lalong lalo na sa panahon ngayon kasi the petty reason is we want everyone to celebrate with us, all the people who are close to us. The second reason is, ang pagpapakasal naman, para sa akin hindi lang naman I love you now. Ano yan, I love you now, I love you tomorrow and forever and ang kaakibat ng pagmamahal na yun is securing your financials so kailangan handang handa tayo doon,” he said.
