In a vlog released on Wednesday, June 2, Luis shared that he got an offer to host the now-defunct reality talent search before he landed a hosting gig for ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Quest.

At the time, Luis was still in a relationship with Nancy Castiglione who eventually served as the host of the show alongside Dingdong Dantes.

Star Circle Quest was a talent search for ABS-CBN’s talent management arm Star Magic.

“Trivia, alam niyo ba na ako dapat ang maghu-host ng StarStruck?” he said in a vlog with Alex Gonzaga and wife Jessy Mendiola.

“Noong unang-una dapat, in-offer sa akin iyon. Girlfriend ko noong time na iyon was Nancy Castiglione. Sila ni Dingdong yata nag-host ng first season,” he said.

But the 40-year-old host declined the offer and stayed with the Kapamilya network where he hosted numerous shows.

Luis started his career with a hosting gig for ABS-CBN music channel MYX. He then earned a spot as a host on the long-running Sunday variety show ASAP.
