After being cast as one of Erich Gonzales’s leading men in the new teleserye La Vida Lena, Carlo Aquino admitted being away from his none-month-old daughter Enola Mithi was one of the hardest sacrifices of being away at a lock-in taping.

Walang preparation para iwanan mo yung anak mo, yung pamilya mo. Kahit for a few weeks lang sobrang hirap. Lalo na yung mga baby na ganyan, sobrang bilis lumaki. Hindi mo makikita yung unang labas ng ngipin, yung nag-crawl, yung first roll over niya. So lahat naka-video lang yun, pinapadala sa akin. Katulad ngayon, nag-la-lock-in ulit ako, every alis mo talaga may nawawala sa ‘yo. Masakit talaga. Pero wala tayong magagawa. Ito yung protocols. Hindi pa puwede makihalubilo wala sa bubble so susunod ka na lang. And work is work,” he shared during the La Vida Lena mediacon.

Having started out in showbiz as a child actor in ABS-CBN, Carlo said he has never been complacent with his place in the industry. With Star Magic welcoming over 40 new artists this year, Carlo said he is just always thankful to be back in his home network.

I’m grateful to ABS-CBN and sa mga opportunities na binibigay nila pero in life kasi we all know na dapat never ka maging complacent. So dapat lagi kang nag-gu-grow. At saka malaking bagay yung may gratitude talaga. At saka nakakatuwa na nag-sa-sign sila ng mga new artists at saka nakakabalik na yung dating na-retrench. Isa lang ang ibig sabihin nun, na medyo nakakablik na ang ABS-CBN. So masaya din kami for ABS,” he said.

During the La Vida Lena mediacon, Carlo shared what Star Magic contributed to his personal growth.

Unang una nag-start ako nine years old so more than two decades na ako with Star Magic. Ever since [then], yung pag-hone ng skills ko tapos tinuruan nila akong maging professional and responsible sa work. Siyempre sa buhay din. Yun yung mga natutunan ko sa kanila,” he added.
