Bea Alonzo shared how she managed to lose 15 lbs as she prepares for an endorsement project.

In her latest vlog, the actress explained that during the quarantine last year, she gained a lot of weight, "probably [around] 20 lbs."

"And it didn't really feel good. Well, at that time, when I was eating a lot of junk, it felt good, 'di ba? But then after a while, it didn't feel like I was at my best," she said.

But then, early this year, she made the decision to lose that weight and lead a generally healthier lifestyle.

"Kung nakita niyo 'yung 'A Day In My Life' video ko, nakita niyo doon that I got into badminton, I went back to doing Pilates, I was trying to eat a little healthier. Until last month, when I was offered to endorse a certain brand that would require me to lose a little and look my best. So I immediately said yes to doing it not only because I like the brand, but because I wanted that extra push to reach my goal," she shared.

For her fitness goals, Bea decided to work with celebrity trainer Jay Garcia, who has trained the likes of Piolo Pascual, Alice Dixson, and Alessandra de Rossi. 

She also enlisted the help of nutritionist Ian Matthew

"We started creating meals gradually, pababa, from 1,800 calories to 1,500 calories, and now down to 1,200 calories," she shared.

According to Bea, she wanted to lose weight the proper way—by eating healthy, getting eight hours of sleep, drinking a lot of water, and, of course, working out regularly. 

"Now, para sa mga bashers ko, I know that I am not the epitome of fitness. But I'm trying my best to look better than ever, and to feel better. So parang feeling ko, when you're healthy, you feel good not only because of the hormones, endorphins or the serotonins that your body actually releases when you're working out. But because when you look at yourself in the mirror, you feel na parang meron kang ginagawa na something good, 'yung parang sabi ko nga, little victories. And whenever I would work out each day, I feel that. I feel that I am working towards my goal," she said. 

"And para lang alam niyo, from January, I have already lost 15 lbs. 'Di ko alam kung halata ninyo but halata ko dahil sa mga damit ko. And I am proud of that. I am proud that I have lost 15 lbs the healthy way. And of course, because of the help of the expert that has helped me," she added.
