Even before formally joining showbiz, Jake Ejercito shared that he already got a taste of intrigue when he was linked to actresses like Maine Mendoza and Bea Alonzo even without basis.
“Yung kay Bea actually, I just attended her birthday party as a plus one lang actually and dun ko lang na-meet si Bea. Ako kasi super fan ako ng One More Chance. Bea-John Lloyd (Cruz) super fan talaga ako. So when I met Bea parang na-capture ata siya and I posted it on my Instagram pero yun lang po yun. Nothing else,” he clarified during a recent Squad Plus media launch event.
In the upcoming lighthearted family series Marry Me, Marry You, Jake will complete the love triangle in the story along with Janine Gutierrez and Paulo Avelino.
“I’ll be playing Cedric. Si Cedric parang kababata siya ng character ni Paulo (Avelino) and at the same time VP siya sa company ni Paulo. He’s the right hand man and he’s also the sounding board. Kinakausap siya ni Paulo when it comes to yung mga personal problems and problems sa professional life. When I saw the list of mga kasama sa Marry Me, Marry You, na-check na lahat ng nasa list ko kasi makatrabaho. it’s all talented and brilliant actors and actresses na veterans and newbies like me. Talagang ibang klase eh yung mixture. Edu Manzano, Cherry Pie (Picache), Sunshine Dizon,” he shared.
With his focus now on acting and helping raise his daughter Ellie (with ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann), Jake said he would prefer not to have any love team at the moment. “I just want to work with anyone that I would learn the craft of acting from. As of now I just want to focus on acting and take it really seriously. But if you ask me long-term naiisip ko pa rin once in a while why not produce shows in the future. But as of now my focus is on acting talaga and probably hosting kung mabibigyan ng opportunity ulit,” he said.
Growing up abroad watching mostly Star Cinema films, Jake revealed the Kapamilya actors he idolizes most when it comes to acting on TV and movies. “There’s a lot to mention kasi pag sinabi mong ABS-CBN iba yung roster of talents. Growing up andiyan sila John Lloyd Cruz, Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, Coco Martin, they are the ones that I look up to,” he said.
