After flying to Ireland earlier this year to shoot a new psychological thriller film titled Nocebo starring Hollywood stars Eva Green and Mark Strong, Chai Fonacier is now back in the country after her international film experience.
Last May 6, the Cebuana actress dedicated a post on Instagram for her co-star French actress Eva Green who is known for doing Hollywood films like Dumbo, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and Sin City.
In her post, Chai said she wanted to share her experience working with Eva. She wrote, “There are many things I could say about her—all of them good—but then it would shatter part of the wonderful sense of mystery she holds over all of us.
“So I'll leave it that, while being utterly, utterly truthful about it: she is among the best, kindest, most talented people I have ever worked with.
“Thank you, @evagreenweb, for gracing us with your presence, your intensity, passion, your art, and the beauty of your being.
“Grateful to be a witness to this awesomeness.
“Won't ever forget you, and I hope to see you again. Love you!”
In the film Nocebo, Chai plays the role of a Pinay caregiver who uses traditional folk healing to reveal a horrifying truth behind a fashion designer’s (played by Eva Green) mysterious illness that puzzles her doctors and frustrates her husband (Mark Strong). Prior to Nocebo, Chai was part of local films like Respeto, Born Beautiful, Sakaling Maging Tayo, and 2016’s Patay na si Hesus where she won Best Supporting Actress at the Luna Awards of the Film Academy of the Philippines.
In 2019, Chai opened up about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and advocated to raise awareness on mental health. The 24-year-old actress shared that with the help of a medical professional, she was able to cope with her condition.
