Baekhyun of EXO left a message to his fans a day before his military enlistment —reassuring them of his imminent return.
Sharing a photo of himself at what appears to be a salon one day before he started his service in the military, the K-Pop artist promised to return safely.
“D-1. I’ll go and return safely,” he wrote in the caption of the photo he shared on his Instagram account.
The day of Baekhyun’s enlistment is not an ordinary one because it coincided with his 29th birthday.
Fellow K-Pop artists from SM Entertainment such as NCT's Taeyeong and Super Junior's Yesung left messages for him, wishing him the best on his journey and greeting him on his special day.
A Naver report revealed that Baekhyun will serve as a public service worker after three weeks of basic military training.
Baekhyun is the sixth of the nine-member K-Pop group to enter the mandatory military service.
Before Baekhyun left for the military, he gifted his fans with his third mini-album titled Bambi released in March.
EXO’s comeback — which involves participation from both Baekhyun and Chanyeol according to reports — was also announced last month. As of this writing, specific details about the upcoming project have yet to be announced.
Born Byun Baek-hyun, the 28-year-old K-Pop idol debuted as part of EXO back in 2012. He also serves as the leader for SuperM.
