With his latest directorial project, He’s Into Her now available online on iWant TFC, director Chad Vidanes said he was thankful to be offered to do all 10 episodes of the popular adaptation of the original Wattpad series.

“Sobrang thankful ako na nabigyan ako ng chance dito sa project na ito. Pero siyempre hindi mawawala yung pressure, yung kaba. But then I think that’s normal. Naniniwala ako na pag pressured ka or kabado ka, it only means passionate ka and may paki ka sa ginagawa mo. As a new director I was excited to work with these new artists because we were all eager to learn and grow. It’s a pleasure to help them and to bring life to this novel which has a massive following,” he said.

To clarify the misconception that the series is a directly lifted from the highly successful book series which contains 43 titles spanning three seasons, direk Chad said the storyline will not exactly follow the printed version.

“We wanted to maintain the essence of the book and the essence of the characters pero may mga bagay sa libro na hindi namin kaya ipakita sa TV o sa pelikula. Parang hindi siya direct adaptation nga. It is inspired by the novel and the characters. I think even if may mga nabago sa storya, you’ll still fall in love with the characters kasi sila pa rin yun eh. Pati every time na may gusto kami baguhin, ipapaalam pa rin namin yun. We don’t change anything without the consent of Ms. Maxine (Lat) also,” he explained.

The He’s into Her director also admitted he feels pressured to be the next go-to director of his generation after being part of such a high-profile production from ABS-CBN.

“Oo napakalaki ng pressure. Siyempre I’m very grateful for Star Cinema for trusting me and giving a chance for the adaptation of this well-known series. Kasi to have built this new generation of stars, yung pressure talaga hindi siya mawawala. Even on the set, I always say to them, ‘Okay lang yan. Natural yan. Matakot ka pag hindi ka kinakabahan pag walang pressure.’ I believe that if you are nervous or pressured, you are passionate sa ginagawa mo. Hindi ko maalis yung pressure but we don’t forget to always have fun pa rin. Ang laking bagay yung na-build nilang off cam relationship. It really reflected on camera. Pagdating nila sa set and mag-te-take na, very natural and very genuine sila eh,” he said.
