A representative of Mario Maurer in Thailand issued a statement sharing how surprised the Thai heartthrob was after finding out that a Filipino personality has been using his name over the last eight years.
While the Thai representative did not mention the name of the Filipino personality, it appears she is referring to Kakai Bautista who received a demand letter from the legal team of the actor last March.
“With regards to all the false stories made by this Filipino personality against Thai celebrity Mario Maurer and his management team, as well as our partner representative in the Philippines, we asked Mario directly for clarity and to shed light on the matter,” Kris Chaovalit, the actor’s representative in Thailand, the representative said.
“He is surprised that it has been eight years since his last movie in the PH and since then his name has been used in this false narrative made by this person and spread in PH social media as well as the news,” the statement added.
The 32-year-old actor-model’s representative for commercial endorsements explained the reason behind Mario’s acknowledgment of his friendship with the actress at the time.
“He acknowledged that by nature, he is merely being accommodating and respectful at the time. But that does not mean this person should use his welcoming hospitality to invent stories beyond working with Mario,” said the representative.
Mario’s representative said he has nothing but love for the Philippines and his fans from the country, adding that he hopes the personality will stop spreading “false fantasy stories” about him.
“Despite the nonstop trolling he is now experiencing from supporters of this person from the Philippines, Mario wishes her well and hopes that she finally stops spreading these false fantasy stories about him being involved with her romantically when it has always been just a cordial work-related tie between them,” the representative said.
Towards the end of the statement, the representative confirmed the notice from Mario’s legal team...
Mario and Kakai worked together in the Star Cinema-produced Suddenly It’s Magic.
