Music icon Sharon Cuneta has received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, she announced on Tuesday, May 18.

On Instagram, Sharon, 55, posted a video of herself getting her first COVID-19 vaccine jab at a hospital in the United States.

"Vaccinated!" she wrote in the caption.

"Got my first dose of Moderna Vaccine! Thank you so much, Nurse Trixia!!!" she said, referring to the Filipina nurse who administered her vaccine.

Sharon's update comes less than a week after she flew to Los Angeles, California without her family, saying she needs to "breathe" and "collect herself".

She did not say how long she will be staying in L.A., nor what made her decide to fly out despite the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
