Iya Villania never thought she’d be able to have a girl for her third child.
In an interview with movie and television writer G3 San Diego, Iya shared her reaction in the weeks leading to the day she found out she was having a baby girl.
“It was such a surprise. One, it wasn’t such an easy delivery and then two, I was so surprised that it was a girl because parang I prepped that it was going to be another boy because for some reason, when I had an ultrasound, akala may jetlogs. Akala ko ‘yun na ‘yung nakita ko kasi parang may something, parang may underneath the pwet,” Iya shared.
“But alam naman the doctor na ayokong malaman ‘yung gender. Pero parang alam mo naman, may dumaan. Sabi ko ‘Were those balls?’ Sabi ko ‘it’s another boy ‘no? Sabi niya, ‘Just let me know if you want another’. Sabi ko, ‘No, I don’t want another’. But from that point on, I always thought na ‘Ah okay’,” she added.
According to Iya, her mom always wanted her to have a baby girl. Then again, she believed she was having a baby boy.
“My mom was always like ‘babae ‘yan.’ ‘Mom, hindi nga eh. Kasi parang may nakita ako. Pwede bang tanggapin mo lang na it’s probably going to be another boy,’” she said.
So when she found out she was having a girl, she thought it was a “major relief” because she knew she can now stop trying to have a baby girl.
“So to my surprise, when I gave birth, ‘It’s a girl’ tapos parang napaiyak ako na may major relief na parang kung girl ‘to, pwede na akong huminto,” she said.
“It was such a surprise because ‘yun nga, it means I can stop. Parang ang saya lang kasi delivery is not easy, pregnancy is not easy,” she added.
“Kasi you know what it when you get to three kids, you easily want more. I don’t know why. Parang when you get to three, parang kaya naman pala. Sige dagdagan pa natin. You realize parang kaya naman pala. Sige dagdagan pa natin.
