In her latest Just Gelli vlog, actress Gelli de Belen spent an afternoon with her sister Janice de Belen and their good friends Carmina Villaroel and Candy Pangilinan.
During their meal, the Unloving U actress shared what she and her husband Ariel Rivera went through after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus last February. Gelli said they got the virus when her husband was exposed to his friend who tested positive. The couple exhibited almost all the symptoms associated with the virus except diarrhea according to Gelli.
Tapos parang yung sipon niya, nahawa ako agad. So, si Ariel, 'Oh, my God, baka pati ako?' Eh, magte-taping siya the next week. And after a couple of days, I decided to still get myself checked. Of course, obviously, positive ako. I had all the symptoms."
Despite going through all the symptoms, Gelli admits she did not have a hard time breathing throughout their whole ordeal. She also shared that she took paracetamol to help with her symptoms.
So I had all the symptoms tapos ang sama ng pakiramdam ko.
Gelli said she was sick for almost two weeks before the symptoms started to subside. But she was thankful that she had her husband of 28 years beside her throughout the whole experience.
“There would be days na akala ko okay na ako. Mamaya pag tinayo ko uupo ako tapos mahihilo. Hilo tapos ang bigat ulit. Sabay kami sa pinagdaanan namin. I actually tried to make light of whatever I'm feeling and siya rin, para hindi mag-worry ang isa't-isa. For other people, wala talaga, mag-isa lang sila.

Gelli said that Ariel took longer to fully recover from the virus.
“There was one time, nasa banyo siya naliligo, he had to sit on the floor. Kasi hinihingal siya at saka parang nahihirapan siyang huminga, may ganun. So kung kami ganoon, what more yung mga nasa ospital? Sobra. Totoo ito. Totoo itong pinagdadaanan ng lahat,” she added.
