"You’re never too old to chase your dreams."
Beauty queen-turned-actress Ruffa Gutierrez made this statement on Instagram on Wednesday, May 12, as she announced that she has returned to school after 34 years.
In her post, Ruffa, 46, shared that she is currently enrolled in the Philippine Women’s University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Communication Arts under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).
"After 34 years of working in the entertainment industry, I have chosen to further my education. Not only do I want to fulfill a long-held dream and take control of the next chapter of my life, I want to set a good example for my children," said Ruffa, who has two daughters -- Lorin and Venice.
"I hope you can support me in my new journey," she added.
In the comment section of her post, fans and fellow celebrities expressed their support for Ruffa.
"Proud of you," said her brothers, twins Richard and Raymond Gutierrez.
"Proud of you!! Kayang-kaya! Love you!" wrote actress Sunshine Cruz.
"You continuously make us proud @iloveruffag. Go and reach for your dreams... we are all behind you & will be cheering for you the whole way!! Bravo," said former beauty queen and host Charlene Gonzales.
Ruffa was recently seen in the TV5 romcom "Stay-In Love", topbilled by Maris Racal and Kokoy de Santos, and the digital movie series "The House Arrest of Us", starring real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
