2020 Miss Universe Philippines candidate Rabiya Mateo was delighted after learning about Thai star Mario Maurer's good luck message for her as she competes in the prestigious pageant.

On Tuesday, May 11, Rabiya posted on her Instagram stories the said news headline and captioned it with, "OMG!!! Fangirling rn [right now]."


Rabiya is an avid fan of the actor, which Mario acknowledged during his virtual media conference on Tuesday, May 11, as one of the new ambassadors of prepaid mobile brand TNT, along with other Thai stars Gulf Kanawut and Nonkul Chanon.

"I heard that Rabiya is a fan of mine. I am very happy to hear that," he said when asked about her.

“I wish her good luck because I know that she is in the competition. I wish that she has a good luck," Mario added.

Mario catapulted to international fame after he starred in the hit Thai movie Crazy Little Thing Called Love in 2010. A popular figure in the Philippines, he also did a movie under Star Cinema opposite actress Erich Gonzales titled Suddenly It's Magic in 2012.

Meanwhile, Rabiya is set to compete at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant on May 17, Manila time, which coronation night will be aired live on the A2Z channel.
