After wrapping up hosting duties with Aljon Mendoza in the recent season of Bida Star: Gandang Naturally Fresh, Karina Bautista said she has learned more about how to be a better host this year.

“Ang pinaka natutunan ko is prepare talaga before the mismong work because there is a lot of ways kung paano mo puwedeng sabihin yung pag-a-announce ng names nila. Paano mo sila papakabahin? So kailangan lalaruin mo rin yung mga words and sa iyo makikita yung facial expression so talagang it’s a whole work, pati mata. Kailangan mo kasi tumagos sa screen. With the team, lagi nila akong inaalalayan and ako kasi dati pumipiyok ako kung napapansin niyo. And now sa mga interviews ko, I’m proud to say na medyo stable na siya kasi I’m working on my speaking skills,” she revealed during the Ultimate Bida Star mediacon.

Having to shoot for the show virtually, Karina shared the challenges of working from her own home.

Aside from having her own livestream on Kumu, Karina said she has plans to further pursue a career in hosting online by starting her own podcast this year. “So less fear and panic and more on sinasanay and nag-a-adapt na lang ako. Aside from work from home, doing a livestream, pinagpla-planuhan ko din kasi yung my games and challenges. Nakapag-general cleaning ako. Sobrang hirap and nagluluto ako and more on nag-se-search ng puwede pang gawin. Plano ko kasi magkaroon ng Spotify podcast and things like that. Since parang they’ve known me na good at giving advice and stuff like this, medyo mas related dun na on a serious note. So this podcast, ang plano ko talaga yung tahimik lang and they will learn a lot more from this,” she revealed.

The 18-year-old actress and host said her background in school has also prepared her for hosting a podcast. So before acting, hosting talaga yung pangarap ko. And now na nagagawa ko na talaga siya,” she said,

During Holy Week, Karina says she was able to spend time focusing on herself. So at least it’s a bit of a break kahit sobrang saglit lang naramdaman ko parang nakapagpahinga ako. So I’m trying to make the days productive pa rin. I-ne-enjoy ko naman na nakakapag-exercise ako and meditate (laughs),” she added.
