After being welcomed into the ABS-CBN Music family last March, teen singer Angela Ken released the full studio version of the track of her unfinished original song “Ako Naman Muna” which she first performed on Tiktok and went viral with more than 1.3M likes.
The 18-year-old singer and songwriter, who is also one of the newest members of Squad Plus, said she refuses to accept being just a one-hit-wonder.
Now that she is a regular performer on ASAP Natin ‘To, Angela said he wants people to appreciate not just her performances but the story behind her songs.
“Yung nag-sa-stand sa akin at maipapakita ko siguro sa ibang tao is I’m not just singing na kahit hindi ko kanta yung kinakanta ko or kahit kanta ko yung kinakanta ko, I want others to feel the message, not just the melody na kasi groovy or ang ganda ng tono. Siyempre every song has its message, every song has a story behind it and I want everyone to see the message of every lyric na mabibigkas ng boses ko and it’s either a realization or a reflection for them. Yun siguro yung edge ko,” she shared.
Along with her new Squad Plus batch mates Anji Salvacion, Sam Cruz, and KD Estrada, Angela said she is always motivated to do her best because of her inspirations in life which include not just her family but her followers as well.
Kasi talagang nakita nila kung saan ako nagsimula,” she said.
