Yam Concepcion has opened up about being in a long distance relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend Miguel Cu-unjieng, who lives abroad.
In an interview with Toni Gonzaga for I Feel U, the actress shared that even before the coronavirus pandemic began, she and her boyfriend were already used to the LDR status, so they didn't have a hard time adjusting to their current setup.
“Sanay na kami ng [long-distance relationship], so okay lang. Pero swerte nakauwi siya nung December for two weeks,” she shared.
Yam said that though they are in an LDR setup, she and her boyfriend make sure to fulfill their responsibilities to their relationship. This, she said, is the reason why they do not feel that they are far away from each other despite the distance.
When asked what she thinks is the key to a successful LDR, Yam said: “Communication and trust ang importante.”
During the interview, Yam also revealed that she is scheduled to fly to New York in May to spend time with her boyfriend.
Yam, 32, stars in ABS-CBN drama Init sa Magdamag with Gerald Anderson and JM de Guzman.
The series follows the story of a congresswoman (Yam) and her relationships with her aspiring politician-husband (JM), and a community doctor (Gerald) with whom she has a romantic past.
Produced by Star Creatives, nit sa Magdamag airs on weeknights and is available to access across nine platforms: Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, A2Z, TV5, TFC, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant TFC, WeTV, and iflix.
