After joining ABS-CBN Music last March, viral Tiktok artist Angela Ken has been launched as an official member of the Gold Squad Plus squad io ASAP. The promising teen singer said she did not expect the invitation.

“Siyempre unexpected talaga tapos nakakataba ng puso na pinagkatiwalaan nila ako at binigyan ng oportunidad na ipakita yung talent ko and yung totoong personality ko sa maraming tao and nakaka-blessed din kasi binigyan kami ng opportunity ni Lord kaming apat and the rest ng Squad Plus,” she shared during the Squad Plus media launch held last April 19.

During the event, the 18-year-old college student from Cavite explained why she feels more comfortable speaking in Tagalog.

The “Ako Naman Muna” singer said that she writes her songs without thinking of how popular they can become. When I released that on Tiktok, I was about to let go of the song kasi hindi ko na alam paano siya tatapusin. Grabe talaga si Lord. Yung mga tao yung nagbigay sa akin ng inspirasyon para tapusin yung kantang yun,” she said.

More than just about romantic love, Angela said even OFWs can appreciate her songs on different levels. Nalulungkot sila kasi feeling nila nag-iisa sila doon. Pero nasa puso ng bawat Pilipino yung pamilya nila and yun din yung gusto kong makita at ma-embrace nung mga tao sa kanta na hindi lang sa isang certain situation ma-fi-fit yung kantang yun but also to OFWs, in general madaming tao ang makaka-relate na they are not alone and someone loves them talaga,” she explained.

Angela Ken was recently launched as a new member of Gold Squad Plus along with fellow artists Sam Cruz, KD Estrada, and Anji Salvacion.
