Actress-philanthropist Angel Locsin is celebrating her 36th birthday by putting up her own community pantry.

On Instagram, Angel said she was inspired by Filipinos who have participated in the nationwide movement providing free food and other necessities to the needy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

I decided to celebrate my birthday tomorrow by putting up a community pantry here," she said.

According to Angel, she put up her community pantry at Titanium Commercial Building, 36 Holy Spirit Drive, corner Don Matias St., Don Antonio Heights in Brgy. Holy Spirit in Quezon City.

She said it will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. "or until supplies last".

"Anyone is welcome. But please make sure to follow protocols. If you can, please bring your own ecobag para hindi makadagdag ng basura. Salamat po!" she added.

In her update this Friday morning, April 23, Angel apologized to the public after her community pantry drew a huge crowd where social distancing was almost impossible to observe.

Just recently, Angel, together with her fellow actress Anne Curtis, donated the remaining proceeds of their "Shop and Share" initiative amounting to P6 million to the Philippine Red Cross and five local governments -- including Pasig -- to boost the country's efforts against COVID-19.
