Currently seen on TV playing the role of Yam Concepcion’s effeminate best friend Raymond in the new series Init Sa Magdamag, Albie Casino shared his lock in experience with the show.
“Naka-ilang project na ako ngayong quarantine eh so itong Init Sa Magdamag, ito yung pinakamalaking production na nagawa ko because the others were films so mas maliit yung production and mas maliit yung cast.
“Natuwa ako sa Init Sa Magdamag kasi I don’t think we had a single positive case sa COVID and we were doing lock in for a six-month period. Three weeks at a time nag-la-lock in kami so kita mo talaga yung effort na linalagay nila sa safety hindi lang sa artista pero sa bawat tao sa set. Ang dami namin dun and walang nagka-COVID and you can really tell with how they’re doing the procedures eh. Talagang kakatok yung nurse sa room mo pag wala kang taping or sa off day, they do the protocols, they check the temperature and they make you sign the papers and all of that,” he said.
The 27-year-old actor said that he has even built strong connections on the show which has led to his current place of residence thanks to co-star JM De Guzman.
“Sobrang naka-build ako ng friendships dun, as in to the point na neighbor ko na si JM. Itong condo ko condo niya dati. Sabi ko sa kanya lumipat siya dun sa taas para ako na lang dito. Now he’s my neighbor literally. I go to his house everyday. Dun ako nagbubuhat eh. Si Kate (Alejandrino) kasi Kate’s been a friend of mine super tagal na. As in 10 years old pa lang ata ako kilala ko na si Kate dahil sa church,” he revealed.
Now that he is living on his own, Albie admitted he actually misses their taping bubble which usually lasts for two to three weeks.
“Sa totoo lang mahirap yung lock in taping talaga pero it was a fun experience. Recently lang, mag-isa ako dito sa condo iniisip ko nakaka-miss din pala siya eh. Kasi siyempre habang nandun ka mahirap kasi walang signal kung saan kami nag-te-taping tapos ikaw lang nandun, wala ka talagang magawa eh. Gusto mo talaga umuwi pero siyempre ngayon na nandito na ako na-mi-miss ko na siya,” he explained,
As one of the celebrities who is vocal on social media, Albie also shared why he is not afraid to air his opinions regarding national issues.
“I pay taxes. Pag dumarating yung tseke ko nakikita ko yung mga kaltas. So I feel like I have a right to voice my opinion. Yun lang. Because that’s where my taxes go. Nakikita ko how much taxes ko tapos nakikita ko yung response sa COVID so sinong hindi magagalit di ba? And I’m not really mad at the government. I’m just mad at how they’re handling things,” he added.
