With her new series Init Sa Magdamag already becoming popular online before it even starts airing on April 19, Yam Concepcion said she is well aware of the buzz they are creating after releasing the initial trailer featuring her with Gerald Anderson. During the mediacon for the series, the sexy actress took the opportunity to defend her new leading man from harsh criticisms about his personal life.

Pero hindi eh, pag katrabaho mo si Gerald he’s very professional at saka very gentleman. Hindi niya pinaramdam sa akin na may malisiya or what. it’s just purely work and despite it being purely work, naparamdam niya sa akin yung emotion sa work. I still felt his honesty bilang yung si Tupe yung character niya,” she shared.

Despite the series being touted as a sexy drama, Yam hopes people can appreciate the story aside from her sizzling scenes with co-stars Gerald and JM De Guzman.

“Actually yung mga ginagawa kong roles simula nung nag-start ako sa showbiz lahat sexy. So parating ganun yung image ko. Pero feeling ko dito sa teleserye na-challenge ako more than just being sexy. Na-test yung vulnerability ko bilang actor at bilang tao din. Grabe as in na-push ako sa kung anong kaya kong ibigay na emosyon and na-experience ko din yung mga emotions na hindi ko pa na-e-experience dati. And it’s not just all about the love scenes. Kailangan siya sa kuwento eh. Hinihingi siya para mapaganda yung kuwento and I think needed siya for the scenes and not just para mapaingay yung teleserye or what. It’s part of the narrative eh. Of course yung directors namin, yung guidance nila and na-protektahan nila kami. We felt very safe and it was all rehearsed so talagang very professional yung nangyari,” she explained.

Before being able to pull off her intimate scenes with Gerald, Yam admitted it took some time to build up their natural chemistry.

“Yung pinaka-unang shinoot namin ni Gerald na medyo intimate scene, yun yung first lock-in namin na hindi pa kami ganun ka-close. So nandun pa yung ilangan and stuff. So kinailangan namin magkaroon ng 30 minutes with each other to get to know each other. May ganun kami kasi nakita nila na naiilangan kami sa isa’t isa. And I think that helped also na maging comfortable kami sa isa’t isa. And then eventually parang naging natural na lang yung chemistry naming dalawa and we got comfortable with each other. Nakuha namin yung trust ng isa’t isa. Kasi hindi naman yan biglaan, hindi naman yan isang araw lang you trust the person already. So it takes a while for you to trust even your directors, even your co-actors. Since then nung nakapag-usap kami ng get to know each other for 30 mintues nakatulong yun sa rapport namin and sa working relationship naming dalawa,” she said.

Yam also promises having must watch scenes with her other leading man JM De Guzman who plays her husband in the series. “Naku, mas mature ata yung kay JM. Mas mainit din yung mga eksena namin ni JM kasi siyempre siya yung asawa ko dito so mas medyo mainit (laughs),” she added.
